1. “Superman” (PG-13) Trailer
David Corenswet is your new Superman in this new DCU version directed by James Gunn, who’s most famous for the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movies. David is 6’4″ and he put on 40 pounds of muscle prior to donning the red cape.
He stars opposite Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as his bitter arch-enemy Lex Luthor, and a massive cast of supporting characters. Directors often hire actors they enjoy working with, and Gunn is no exception.
Bradley Cooper has a cameo as Kal-El’s Kryptonian dad Jor-El. And if you pay close attention to robots #1 and #5 in the Fortress of Solitude, you may recognize the voices of his “Guardians” costars Michael Rooker and Pom Klementieff.
Gunn also put his brother Sean Gunn in the movie as Maxwell Lord . . . a billionaire who puts together his own team of superheroes, but gives them the ridiculous sounding name of the Justice Gang.
That “gang” consists of Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner . . . an abrasive Green Lantern with an embarrassing bowl cut hairstyle, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, and Edi Gathegi as tech inventor Mister Terrific.
They use the classic John Williams theme from 1978’s “Superman”. And Christopher Reeve’s son has a cameo as a news reporter in one of the crowd scenes . . . which is fitting since Will Reeve works for ABC News in real life.
2. “Skillhouse” (Not Yet Rated)
A horror movie where 50 Cent lures ten social media influencers to a content house, traps them there, forces them to start from scratch by erasing their millions of followers . . . and kills off whoever earns the fewest “likes”.
PROFANITY WARNING: There are F-bombs and other profanity in the trailer.
