LATEST FORECAST Oklahoma City, OK

Earlier this evening there was a low chance of severe weather, but that chance is now gone. We expect breezy conditions the rest of this evening. We are still focused on Saturday being a day to stay weather aware with all modes of severe weather possible.

For a video and explainer of Saturday's forecast, please visit our Storm Watch Alert Day article HERE.

A FLOOD WATCH is in effect from 7:00 AM Saturday to 7:00 PM Sunday for most of the area due to 3-5" of rain on the way.

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with any storms from this evening over. Lows will be around 67 with winds from the south at 15 to 30 mph.

SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy with strong to severe storms and a high of 77. Winds will be out of the south at 20 to 35 mph. There remains many things to nail down with Saturday's forecast. However, one thing we are sure of is that severe weather is likely. Storms will be capable of producing 60 to 80 mph winds, hail up to the size of baseballs, and tornadoes. What we don't know is when will the storms first start, and what will the storms look like when they are up and going. We have models that have morning showers and storms that start things off before 10:00 AM across southwest Oklahoma and then we just have waves of storms into Saturday night. We also have models that have some rain and clouds in the morning, but the storms wait until later in the day. That will be something we won't really know until the morning unfortunately.

Another thing we don't know is how the storms will look. Some models like to keep the storms as clusters of supercells, while others have a large line of storms. We would get wind, hail, and tornadoes out of either scenario, but the supercells would favor the hail and tornadoes compared to the line that would favor the wind and tornadoes.

One thing we do not want is a sunny morning. If there isn't cloud cover or morning rain/storms, the severe potential by the afternoon will be very high and it's already high even with morning storms. We'll still get severe weather no matter what, but the clouds and rain in the morning would help.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Storms will likely be ongoing and forming into a line of storms if they haven't done so already. Lows will be around 59. Expect heavy rain to still continue during this time.

SUNDAY: We'll still have to keep an eye on things as storms might pop back up in the afternoon on the eastern side very much like Friday evening. Highs will be around 79 with winds out of the southwest at 15 to 30 mph.

Additional storms are likely by the middle to end of next week.
