This prequel is set between the third and fourth “John Wick” movies.
It stars Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro, a ballerina who becomes an assassin after being forced to watch her father’s murder at the hands of Gabriel Byrne as a child.
She’s taken in by Anjelica Huston and raised within the Ruska Roma . . . that’s the Romani criminal organization that helped train John Wick. Keanu Reeves is also in it, but make no mistake that de Armas is the main star.
As she rises in the ranks and starts going on assignments, she finally gets a lead on her dad’s killer then ignores her orders and goes on an unrelenting quest for revenge.
Norman Reedus from “The Walking Dead” also has a key role in the movie. And Ian McShane and Lance Reddick return as Winston and Charon from New York’s Continental Hotel. This was Reddick’s last role before his death in 2023.
