New in Theaters: “Kung Fu Panda 4”, “Imaginary” and “Cabrini”

1.  “Kung Fu Panda 4”  (PG)  Trailer

Jack Black returns as Po, who’s been asked to become the spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace.

But to do that, he has to first find and train the next Dragon Warrior.  And that won’t be easy, because there’s a new shape-shifting villain called the Chameleon (played by Viola Davis) who can take the form of any other creature.

Awkwafina and Ke Huy Quan are also in it.  She’s a quick-witted thief who helps Po.  He’s the leader of the Den of Thieves.

2.  “Imaginary”  (PG-13)  Trailer

This is a horror thriller about a teddy bear posing as a little girl’s imaginary friend while hiding the dark spirit of a creature no one else can see.

3.  “Cabrini”  (PG-13)  Trailer

A historical drama starring Italian actress Cristiana Dell’Anna as an immigrant named Francesca Cabrini.

John Lithgow and David Morse are also in it.

She was a nun who was so shocked at the conditions in 1889 America that she ignored her own failing health and dedicated the rest of her life to fighting for the sick and the poor at a time when sexism and Anti-Italian prejudice made it almost impossible for someone like her.

Its release date was set to coincide with International Women’s Day.  Mother Cabrini helped build multiple orphanages and hospitals across the country and became the first American citizen to be canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church.
