New in Theaters: “Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret.” and “Big George Foreman”

1.  Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret.  (PG-13)  Trailer

It’s based on Judy Blume’s 1970 coming-of-age novel of the same name.  Margaret is a sixth grader who moves to the suburbs of New Jersey with her family.  She must make new friends, while navigating the beginning of puberty. 

Abby Ryder Fortson plays Margaret.  You might recognize her from “Ant-Man”, she played Paul Rudd’s daughter Cassie.  Rachel McAdams plays Margaret’s mom and Kathy Bates plays her grandma.

2.  Big George Foreman  (PG-13)  Trailer

This biographical drama follows the life and boxing career of World Heavyweight champion, George Foreman.  And how he became the oldest heavyweight champion in boxing history at age 45.

Khris Davis plays George.  He was in “Space Jam: A New Legacy” and “Judas and the Black Messiah”.  It also stars Forest Whitaker and Sonja Sohn and Lawrence Gilliard Junior, who are both from HBO’s “The Wire”.
