No major changes to our forecast with this update. The latest data is suggesting perhaps a longer period of a wintry mix in central OK, along with a slight slowing trend, but overall we are still on track for a high impact winter storm for the entire area. #okwx #txwx pic.twitter.com/33DieY9UIq

Here’s some tips for best preparing for a winter storm.
-When temps are below freezing outside, remove hoses from outside spigots and cover those with cold weather covers
-Open under sink cabinets to let heat inside and drip your inside faucets (especially those that face an exterior wall) to prevent burst pipes
-Try to keep inside heat set to 65 degrees or warmer
-Bring in outside pets or make sure there’s proper shelter for any outside animals

The Homeless Alliance, City Care, City Rescue Mission, SISU Youth and PIVOT will be providing overflow beds for those seeking to get out of the cold. These resources are in addition to regular capacity at overnight shelters in OKC.
